The Endowment Fund

The Endowment Fund is not intended to supplant individual designated donations, but is seen as another means of initiating growth to the funding of the college scholarship program.  While still under development, the guidelines for this program include: 

1. For the purpose of managing the endowment fund, a sub committee will consist of one Scholarship Fund Committee member and at least one financial advisor who may or may not be an active member of the Scholarship Fund Committee.

2. A minimum donation of $1000.00 will be required for an endowment to be established. Donations of any amount may be made once the endowment is established.

3. A minimum donation of $3000.00 will be required for a named endowment (recognition of endowment donor(s) would be made at time of awards presentation). Donations of any amount may be made once the endowment is established.

4. The principal of all endowments will remain invested (present day recommendation is a fixed market account) and only the interest earned would be used for scholarship awards. This provides the perpetual foundational funding needed for the growth of the College Scholarship Fund.

5. The College Scholarship Committee retains the right to refuse an endowment donation if that donation comes with restrictions/conditions that interferes with the present awarding system and/or guidelines that are used in making scholarship awards. The committee as a whole would review the restrictions/conditions before a decision on acceptance would be made.

6. In keeping with our desire to show our appreciation for endowment donations, the College Scholarship Fund would like to be made aware of donations made in memory of individuals when donor names are supplied. The individual donor’s name will be given to the family where appropriate.
